The D200 uses the Nikon EN-EL3 / EN-EL3e battery pack, which is a 7.4V battery pack. As such, taking it portable requires some special equipment to support your Nikon EN-EL3 / EN-EL3e battery charger.

Rather than use the AC charger that came with your Nikon D200, we recommend saving power by keeping your portable system operating from DC power. This allows you to use external battery packs & solar panels to charge your Nikon D200. A suitable solar panel & solar storage battery will need to interface with the En-EL3 / EN-EL3a battery pack should you want to operate off-grid and take your Nikon D200 on a serious wilderness expedition.
