L5 Headlamp
The most powerful LED headlamp available
By Brunton (L5)
The L5 is Brunton's latest LED powerhouse, containing a luxeon 5 watt LED lamp. This latest in headlamp technology pushes white light out to 246 feet (75m) for up to 15 hours, with power save run times up to 50 hours.
A bright idea...
Brunton set a precedent with the first continuous 3-watt Luxeon LED headlamp, and they didn't stop there. The L5 is hands-down the brightest LED headlamp on the market, providing you with a long distance spotlight & close-up flood light. Unlike other headlamps that simply die when the batteries are spent, the L5 is designed with advanced circuitry that steps down its output to 15% when the batteries run low. So, you not only know when battery recharge is required, but you also have enough light to continue with your activity for hours longer.
What's the big deal with LEDs?...
The great thing about LEDs is that they are a solid state device, and as such are incredibly difficult to break, and they are not subject to burn-out like standard halogen & incandescent bulbs. Compare the 100,000 hour run time of an LED against the several thousand hours on a halogen bulb.
So, they are tough, and last a long time. But perhaps even more important is their miserly use of battery power. An LED consumes about 1/10th the amount of power as a halogen in producing the same amount of light. When battery run time & headlamp performance is important to you, choose an LED headlamp.
Who's buying?...
The L5 is an essential tool for hikers, campers, sportsmen, field workers, climbers, and cavers. It's strength is striking a balance between power & overall weight.
