A bright idea...

Brunton set a precedent with the first continuous 3-watt Luxeon LED headlamp, and they didn't stop there. The L5 is hands-down the brightest LED headlamp on the market, providing you with a long distance spotlight & close-up flood light. Unlike other headlamps that simply die when the batteries are spent, the L5 is designed with advanced circuitry that steps down its output to 15% when the batteries run low. What's the big deal with LEDs?...

The great thing about LEDs is that they are a solid state device, and as such are incredibly difficult to break, and they are not subject to burn-out like standard halogen & incandescent bulbs. Compare the 100,000 hour run time of an LED against the several thousand hours on a halogen bulb.
