The Brunton RL4 is a compact, lightweight headlamp designed for anyone who wants an excellent headlamp for all-around use. The RL-4 is built around 3 bright white LED's, and a single red LED for preserving your eyes' night vision. This latest in headlamp technology pushes white light out to 50 feet (15m) for up to 45 hours from three AAA batteries, with power save mode run times up to 90 hours.

A bright idea...
The Brunton RL4 has been designed for hikers, campers, fishers, hunters, & spelunking. Features such as a mode cycle switch that starts at the lowest power save level to conserve battery power. The red LED protects your night vision by using a wavelength that does not cause your eyes to continually have to make drastic adjustments between the illuminated area and surrounding dark. A water resistant, anti-reflective body with tilting head makes the RL4 complete.
The Brunton RL4 is rated at 0.3 Watts, with a wide angle beam that is ideal for close-up work, campsite prep, climbing, spelunking, walking, & field work. The unit offers power save, bright, ultra-bright & flash modes in addition to the red LED mode.
What's the big deal with LEDs?...
The great thing about LEDs is that they are a solid state device, and as such are incredibly difficult to break, and they are not subject to burn-out like standard halogen & incandescent bulbs. Compare the 100,000 hour run time of an LED against the several thousand hours on a halogen bulb.
So, they are tough, and last a long time. But perhaps even more important is their miserly use of battery power. An LED consumes about 1/10th the amount of power as a halogen in producing the same amount of light. When battery run time & headlamp performance is important to you, choose an LED headlamp.
