The Helio solar flashlight is what we consider to be one of the best emergency flashlights available. What makes the Helio different is that it offers both high sensitivity solar cells, and a smooth, quiet dynamo crank. All in a stylish design that is built very well (we took one apart to make sure). So the Helio will charge quietly just by leaving in a bright window. When you run the Helio down, simply use the hand crank for a quick charge. Best of all, you never have to worry about buying batteries again.

The best of two worlds...

Solar flashlights are a nice idea. Leave them on the window sill, and they will be charged & ready when you need them. But what happens when you drain the flashlight on one long, dark, stormy night? Not so easy to charge it up again quickly.

Dynamo flashlights solve the issue of immediate charging. But the drawback here is that you need to do some cranking before you can use it. Just when you need to be finding the fuse box!

Enter the Helio to bring it all together. It charges on its own on a window sill so it is ready & charged when you need it. Then it also has the ability to charge itself with the dynamo if you use it beyond what the solar cells were able to provide. Brilliant!

Is the Helio bright?
