Power storage...

The Outpost Power 4 includes a compact 4.5 amp-hour sealed lead acid battery with AGM construction for reliable service in a broad range of temperatures & long life - longer than gel cell batteries. This type of battery will lose very little power during times of storage & transport. It has enough reserve power to run a standard handheld GPS unit for almost 54 hours - almost 5 times the run time provided by a set of AA batteries. Plus you now have the ability to charge the unit from your vehicle outlet on your way to the trailhead.

As non-spillable, sealed batteries, the kits are not regulated for air travel, so take your OP-4 kit with you overseas. MSDS information is available.

DC Outlet...

The Outpost Power 4 comes equipped with dual DC outlet sockets, plus 8' charging cable for charging from your vehicle outlet.

Flexible charging options...

When driving to the trailhead, you can top-up the battery charge by plugging the Outpost Power kit into the cigarette socket in your vehicle (optional for the CLA pack). If you plan to be away from any charging source for several days, take along one of our compact folding solar panels (5 Watt) to help offset your power usage.

Weatherproof Carry Case option...

If you choose the Solar Pack, or the DC Pack, the Outpost Power 4 is packed into a tough, padded weatherproof LowePro AV bag. The integrated belt fastener makes it easy to clip it on and go.

Need household AC power?...

It's not recommended on battery packs this small due to the drain that AC inverters place on batteries, but it can be done. We recommend the 150W Smart AC Dual outlet with USB port - this inverter has a very low battery cut-off threshold, which permits the battery's voltage to sag under load without cutting off the inverter. The USB port is a nice addition for your small electronics.
