The Surg SR475 dynamo radio offers a wide range of features not found on other radios in its price range, and rugged construction that's essential for emergency equipment.
The Surg dynamo radio has a super-bright LED flashlight that never needs its bulb replaced. It also has a small telescopic antenna, water-resistant design, tough dynamo generator, and memory-free rechargeable NiMh internal battery for years of trouble-free operation. This model also offers a compartment for two standard 'AAA' batteries for times when you don't want to be winding the handle. It allows you to switch between the internal rechargeable battery or the standard batteries.
A DC jack is provided for powering & charging the radio from an external adaptor. It also has a headphone jack - essential for using headphones that extend your run time per charge.
Digital display & clock with alarm
The SR475 dynamo radio provides a digital display, and we have confirmed that the display very accurately reflects the analog tuning position. The clock displays while the radio is off, and the tuning while the radio is on.
The clock functions independently on two button cell batteries, and is therefore not dependant on the status of the dynamo power. The clock's alarm function (mid tone beeping) can be turned on or off at the press of a button on the back of the radio.
90 seconds = 20 minute operation
The Surg crank radio provides a long run time from only a 90 second winding. Of course it will operate from a shorter wind too. 30 seconds will provide about 6 minutes of sound or light.
