Like its sister panel, the PowerFilm USB+AA is able to charge AA batteries direct from ordinary daylight. The stronger the daylight, the faster the charging. But this new panel also allows you to connect USB devices to the panel and draw power from the sunlight & the batteries at the same time.

The smallest, lightest AA charger
This small, light solar charger packs more charging power than any of the flimsy plastic chargers you might find on sale for $30. This kit provides 1.44 Watts peak output, enough to charge a set of two high-capacity batteries in one day. Compare this to the less than 0.5 Watt output of the small AA/AAA solar chargers which would take up to 3 days to charge the same high capacity batteries.
