How does it work?
This is a clamp-style universal charger. First, open the jaws & adjust the little contact legs so they align with the terminals on your battery. Push your battery against the teminals until you see the green light. Release the clamp to hold your battery in place (rubber pads) & plug the unit into a USB port.
How big a battery will it hold?
Must be a 3.6v or 3.7v lithium battery pack. Most cell phones & small digital cameras fall into this category.
The battery can be as wide & as long as it wants. But the battery thickness must not exceed 0.75" (2cm) for the clamp to get a good grip. The battery terminals must be on one end of the battery. The spacing between the terminals must be no closer than 3/16" (4mm), and no wider than 3/4" (2cm). Get out your ruler!
Is it safe?
Of course. The charger automatically detects the correct polarity of your battery, so you don't need to worry about +/- terminals. It also charges at the appropriate 4.2V for a 3.7V lithium battery, which is an easy step-down from the USB standard of 5V. When it is finished charging, it stops, and the red charging light changes to green.
