If you own a boat, and you like to fish from time to time, you owe it to yourself to get a Mariner's Edge forecasting barometer. The Mariner's Edge predicts freshwater & saltwater fish feeding activity anywhere in the world. The Mariner's Edge predicts fish activity and feeding behavior based on environmental conditions including barometric pressure trend, moon phase, and sun/moon position.
Patented EDGE pocket computer includes fishing predictions in addition to tide info for 546 US ports (only US ports are available at this time due to differing laws). So now not only do you have access to electronic solunar tables for your precise location any time you want them (through 2099), but you will know the local tidal conditions too. Throw in the electronic barometer with weather forecast & severe weather alarm, and you have an incredible useful tool to have with you every time you head out.
Why it works...
Fishers and scientists alike identify several key factors affecting fish behavior.Moon phase and position influences not only tides, but also such things as fish migration, spawning, and feeding.
Time of day and daylight intensity are well-known determinants of fish activity, as is barometric pressure and weather conditions.
The algorithm that incorporates all these factors has been designed by a team of professional biologists with a combined background of more than 40 years of fishery research experience. The system uses observational and experimental data from fishing tournaments, combined with scientific study results and meteorological data.
How is it used...
The Mariner's Edge is incredibly simple to use. After entering the local time, date, altitude, latitude, and longitude, the Mariner's Edge will indicate the current fishing conditions for that location, including a 4-hour fishing forecast.
Click the 'mode' button to enter a future date and time and have the unit project what the fishing will be like at that time. A great idea for planning fishing camp excursions or vacations.
The unit will also provide a weather forecast for the following 12-24 hours, and includes a severe weather audio alarm. Nice features to have with you when out in the wild.
