The Knife blade is a medium carbon stainless steel with a hardness rating of RC50, selected for its ability to both take and hold an edge and be resistant to rust. The blade features a liner-lock mechanism for easy one handed operation.
The knife body is made from tough Zytel (by DuPont), a nylon reinforced glass fiber material that is unaffected by most solvents or even gasoline.
The bright white LED is powered by four 1.5v button cell watch batteries that are easily replaced and commonly found. The LED will never burn out, and being sealed, can withstand shallow water immersion.
