We believe in gear that doesn't need to be constantly fed with batteries that simply end up in our landfills, or worse. So when we saw Wagan's compact solar charged lantern, we knew it was perfect for our catalog.

Convenient versatility

A common question is how does a solar lantern work when it is dark out? Simple, the lantern charges its internal rechargeable SLA battery during the day with power from the sun, so that it has lots of power for use at night. If the sun is not able to provide enough power on cloudy days, simply top-up the battery by plugging the lantern into an optional AC wall adaptor, or the included vehicle adaptor. The solar panel is constructed from efficient polycrystalline solar cells, and can be tilted for the most efficient exposure to the sun.

The Solar Lantern provides a bright 7 watt fluorescent tube, and standard incandescent spotlight. The fluorescent tube has a silver reflector to maximize the lamp's brightness, and can be tilted to various angles to suit your needs. Both the tube & bulb can be easily replaced using standard bulbs available at most hardware stores. Even the rechargeable battery can be easily replaced after long years of service.
