We've put these self-powered lights right up-front because they are so incredibly popular. Forget for a moment that they will reduce the number of batteries in landfills, and forget that they are always ready to use. These are some of the best lighting products available... period.

We've organized this list according to power from the top down.

LED stands for "Light Emitting Diode", a semiconductor device that emits a beam of light when an electric current is applied to it. The great thing about LEDs is that they use very little power to generate light. In fact they use 1/10th the amount of power to generate the same amount of light as a standard incandescent bulb, and half the power of a compact fluorescent. This means that a 5-Watt LED compares closely with a 1-Million candle power 55-Watt Halogen!

LEDs are finding more and more applications all the time due to their lifetime which is usually up to 100,000 hours (almost 10 years if you were to leave it 'on'), their reliability, & continuous advances in their power. There was a time when LEDs were only useful for indicator lights on stereos & personal electronics, but now with Luxeon 1, 3, & 5 watt units, and cluster formats for smaller LEDs, they are slowly replacing standard bulbs in everything from traffic lights, bus tail lights & turn signals, and of course flashlights, headlamps & lanterns.

Choose LED products if reliability, long battery life, & durability are important to you.

1-Watt LED elements will shine beyond 200 feet (60m), while the 5 & 7 cluster LED models are comparable to standard halogen flashlights. The 2 & 3 LED models are best for lighting within 10m (30'), and are the common models used in emergency kits.

CFLs contain toxic merkury, and standard incandescents & halogens waste power. Fortunately, it was only a matter of time before LED bulbs for your home would reach a price point where they make very good economic sense as replacement bulbs. We are now pleased to offer a variety of LED bulbs that can replace a variety of bulbs around your home.

You'll notice that these bulbs are more expensive than normal light bulbs, but their economy is unquestionable due to energy efficiency & extremely long service life. You can save up to $400 per bulb over their 10-year lifetime. Not bad!

Worried about the cost of the LED bulbs themselves? Don't try to convert your entire house at once. Use 2 or 3 LED bulbs to replace the standard bulbs in your house that you use most. Replace others over time. The money you save on your power bill will cover the cost of the bulbs very quickly.
