The paper is specially coated so that water simply beads-up & runs off. You can write normally with an ordinary pencil right through beads of water that have been sitting on the surface of the paper for hours with no problem. The paper doesn't tear, and the pencil doesn't smudge. If you need ink, Rite in the Rain offers a selection of pens that operate normally through water.

Field researchers, photo journalists, tour operators, kayakers, hikers, artists, & sports groups will appreciate the durability of these products. We tested the paper at a west coast track & field meet with outstanding results. The paper went through the copier properly like standard paper, and all the event results sheets ignored the periodic April rain showers, leaving happy judges & officials.
