The Powermonkey Explorer 2 Waterproof USB Battery by Powertraveller is the toughest portable USB charger available on the market today. Features include a rugged aluminum shell with waterproof seal, backlit LED status display, and multi-output USB connection cable.
Complete outdoor design
With an Ingress Protection rating of IP67, the Explorer 2 is 100% waterproof (1m of water for up to 30 minutes). The included connection cable has a ‘bath-plug’ style waterproof seal that fits under the aluminum screw cap. This ensures that all connections are watertight. Of course, the battery can also be used without the cap or cable too.
Despite the tough exterior, the charger weighs just 286 grams. Thanks to a compact cylindrical design, it is very portable so can be easily packed in a backpack.
The Powermonkey Explorer 2 features a micro USB output and input connector, both with IP65-rated weatherproof caps which form a tight seal to keep out dust and water. The durable 80 cm ‘Y’ cable has been tested to -60°C so you can rest assured that your device will continue to work in even the most extreme conditions. The charger also comes with a USB output and input adaptor tip so that you can charge it via USB or charge other USB compatible devices.
Ultra-tough aluminum casing
Made from an ultra-strong aluminium cast shell, the Powermonkey Explorer 2 can withstand high impacts from drops and has even survived a field test of being run over by a Land Rover. Its anodized surface has molded ridges which ensure a firm grip in cold and wet weather. The charger has been successfully tested in temperatures as low as -60°C and as high as 50°C, proving it can function in almost any condition.
