How Much Energy Does It Hold?
Keep all your small to medium devices and appliances charged with the Yeti 500X
Light-A-Life 350: 80 Hours
Camera: 70 Recharges
Phones: 40 Recharges
Tablet: 10 Recharges
Laptops: 8 Rechages
Medical devices (cpap): 10 Hours
Pellet grills: 9 Hours
TV’s: 3 Hours
Charging from Solar
At 500 Watt-Hours, the Yeti 500X will require more than 200W of solar in order to recharge it from an 80% depth of discharge during a single typical summer day. By the math, this means that a 20W solar panel will only fare 10% as well.
As always, we recommend planning your solar system according to your consumption. Add-up all your appliances & tech that you need to keep operating, calculate the solar that will be able to keep-up with this demand, and then use the Yeti 500X as the gas tank that does the energy delivery & gets you through days of lower sunlight.
Can you use non-Goal Zero solar panels?
Absolutely! Goal Zero modules are very nice, but there are a lot of options out there.
But, you may need to do a little bit of connector translation in order to get your solar panels to connect to the Yeti. That’s one of our specialties!
We have options for any solar panel connection to the Yeti 500X’s 8mm input port : SAE to 8mm, MC4 to 8mm, Anderson to 8mm, Weatherpack (Powerfilm) to 8mm, plus custom options.
